Hello Parker UMC!
We’ve been planning some very special things for you this Advent season, which begins Sunday, November 28. We’ve provided you with dates, times and a short summary of each experience. Meaningful worship, fun for families young and old, and moving musical performances highlight the joy and wonder of this season.
Advent Series “The Inn,”
The pandemic has laid bare, and widened, economic disparity locally and globally. As we enter the Advent season, how can our churches become houses where the Holy will be born anew–offering respite, sustenance and care, opening the doors ever wider to those seeking shelter from the onslaught of life? No one church can do it all, but each can do something. As we study the biblical prophets that call us to care for our neighbors and “make room in the inn,” the lonely and frightened spaces within us are filled with the light of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Join us for this exciting new series beginning November 28th!
Journey Through Advent
Starting Sunday, November 28th stations will be set up throughout the Sanctuary, Narthex and Fellowship areas that will prepare you for Advent, the Christmas season and Epiphany. Each station will have a scripture reading and reflection for people of all ages. We will be using coloring posters to guide you through Advent by utilizing art, coloring and interactive reflection. The doors of our church are open throughout the advent season; weekdays 8:30 – 9:30am & 11:30am – 12:30pm and on Sundays 8:00am – Noon. If these times do not work for your family, please contact Noelle Allison, [email protected] to schedule a time that works for you. Just come in and rest, get some peace, or visit the stations. That’s it. Stewards will be present to be sure it is a safe space, but you don’t have to talk to anyone if you prefer some solitude.
KIDS! Along with the coloring posters, you can go on a scavenger hunt finding the characters of the Christmas story!
Christmas Eve Services
Please join us for Christmas Eve worship at 2, 4, 6, and 8 p.m. The 2, 4, and 6 p.m. services will be held in our sanctuary and the 8 p.m. service will be held outside in our parking lot. All services will have candlelight!
Masks are preferred for all of our indoor Christmas Eve services due to the amount of out-of-town guests who will be joining their families for service.
