MISSION TRIP REGISTRATION INFORMATION AT THE END OF THIS EMAIL
Jr. High Parents
I could use 2-3 extra adults to help lead some discussion circles for the Jan. 14th & 21st. If you’re available to help just stick around Sunday evening. It’ll be great. The discussion is on “Parents.” You’ll just be helping facilitate a small group discussion (questions provided). Trust me – Jr. High have no problem talking and sharing…. ha, ha!
Youth Led Services
On January 28th the youth will lead all services – in almost all capacities! (Hold on to your hats – we MAY even have a youth playing the organ!….We’ll see.) I hope all youth will plan to participate in our Youth Drama – this is in place of our normal flash mob. Come to youth group so you can practice! Please talk to your youth about signing up at youth group for places we will need help – such as greeters, ushers, and working at our fundraising table. We will also close the service together during the benediction. It should be a great Sunday for our church to see our youth in action! Sign ups will be Sunday during Sunday School and Youth Group.
Winter/Spring Youth Calendars Now Available
When you come to church, grab a new winter/spring activities calendar from the top shelf of the Youth News Rack (in the Narthex). They’re always lime green.
A Bible Study for High School Students Starting in January!
It’s not too late! Kurt and Tina Stroman are beginning a new 8 week Bible study at their house on Tuesday nights from 7-8 PM. They’ll be leading a study on the book of Ephesians. Although Ephesians is one of the shortest books in the New Testament in terms of word count (only 6 chapters and 155 verses), it is perhaps the most applicable to today’s culture. Please RSVP to Tina ([email protected]) so they will have enough books ordered to begin the class. Cost of the book is $13 and can be paid on the first night of class (Jan. 9th). This will be at the Stroman’s house: 11692 Larkspur Drive, Parker, 80134.
5050 & Youth Fundraiser
Providing opportunities for our students to strengthen and grow in their faith is a 50/50 kind of support system in the church. We must nurture and encourage the youth to help them discover and grow closer in their relationship with God. Youth have opportunities through Sunday School, youth group, retreats, mission trips and conferences. All of these take financing, and parents do their part by paying for their children to attend. But other charges add up like van rentals, gas, chaperone costs and supplies. On Jan. 28 we will have a donation based fundraiser available during Youth Sunday and each Sunday after leading up to, and during, the free “Church-Wide Dance” that the youth and preteens will be hosting on Feb. 9th. We will have a board with 100 envelopes available – each with a number between 1-100. Donors may choose an envelope and donate the amount on the envelope. When you add those numbers up it equals $5,050.
Can You Provide A Meal in 2018?
Youth dinners are a vital part of our Sunday evenings and help provide a true time for fellowship and fun. If you are able to provide a snack dinner some evening, please choose a date that works best for you. Click here to access the signup genius – and thank you so much!
