Thank you, thank you PUMC for the generous response to last Sunday’s Blessing Bag mission event. Almost $1300 in food and clothing donations was packaged into bags to be shared with our homeless neighbors and almost 100 bags were packed. A special thanks to our Second Grade Sunday School class for making the love notes for the bags.
When we finished packing, all remaining items were gifted to Aurora Warms the Night to serve the needs of a growing homeless population in the area. Those being shared directly with homeless neighbors will receive the extra blessing of being greeted and blessed in the name of Jesus by one of our congregation.
In March, we will again pack Blessing Bags on the second Sunday. Next month we will bless the clients of Parker Task force with Birthday Bags for children. Each bag will contain a cake mix, can of frosting, candles, party plates, cups, napkins and forks. We will also need pretty bags (birthday bags or colored bags) to fill with the party gifts. Please bring donations to the Missions Table on the Sanctuary level or the box on the upper level marked Blessing Bags. Watch the Missions screen for more details and other upcoming events.
