We’re Happy to Answer Your Most Frequently Asked Questions
Visiting a new church is exciting. But it can also be confusing. Most of all, everyone has questions they want to ask. Where do I go for worship? What do you offer for children and youth? How do I get involved in mission and ministry?
These are all great questions. We’ve tried our best to answer the most popular questions below. If you don’t see an answer to the question you’re asking, please call our church office at 303-841-3979 and someone will be happy to help you.
Where do I go for worship?
Our worship center is located downstairs on the north side of the building. You can enter through the west side doors (facing Parker Road) or by the church office (facing Pine Drive). Enjoy a free donut and coffee, tea or water before or after the worship service.
What should I wear?
Because the United Methodist Church is home to believers of all different backgrounds, people wear a wide range of “dressiness.” Jeans are fine and so is a suit or skirt. Please wear what makes you most comfortable.
Where is children’s Sunday school?
We offer Sunday School for ages 3 through 5th grade. Check in your child at the treehouse right outside our worship center on the main level. Little Blessings, our church preschool, uses the classrooms during the week. As a result, the class spaces are very inviting and kid friendly.
Children are welcome at all worship services. Sunday school is during the 9:00 am service. After you check them in, bring them into the sanctuary with you. After the children’s message, they will go to Sunday school. In addition, a greeter will be happy to answer any other questions you have.
What do you offer for youth?
Youth Sunday School is offered to students in 6 th through 12 grade in rooms 137 and 144 during the 9:00 am service. Youth activities are also offered on Sunday afternoons. For more information regarding anything youth-related, please feel free to email Pastor Cody
How do I make a prayer request
Because prayer is a such powerful tool, we offer many ways to connect through prayer:
- Prayer cards are available in the seats in our worship center during service. Just take a picture of the QR code with your phone. It will direct you to a secure form online where you can share.
- Email your prayer request to Pastor Laura, Senior Pastor, or Cody Anderson, Associate Pastor. Since these go directly to our pastoral leadership, it’s one of the best ways to keep your prayer confidential.
- We’ve recently created our very own Parker UMC App. It just takes a few clicks to submit a request. Search Parker UMC in your App Store or Google Play to download. Confidential and non-confidential options are available.
- You also have the option of submitting a prayer request right here by clicking on the linked text.
How do I reserve a meeting room?
Faith based groups should stop by the church office or email the church office a detailed request for meeting space. Groups that are not faith-based need to review and fill out a building usage agreement. In addition, some of these groups may also pay a small fee, and for any recurring events be sure that Parker UMC is included as a rider on their insurance policy. All of the necessary forms are available at the church office.
How do I submit an article for the church newsletter?
The Midweek Message is our primary form of all church communication. It’s a weekly email blast and it’s a great way to learn about upcoming events and classes, giving and volunteer opportunities, as well as highlights from past events. To subscribe to our weekly emails click here.
Please submit your article (1-2 short paragraphs) to Pastor Laura three days prior to publication (Wednesdays at 8 am).
