Snack Dinner – Provided by the Reynolds Family this week!
Last Sunday were the Marshmallow Olympics! Both Jr. High and Sr. High had a great time competing in fun, but also for those countries (over 100) currently in the real Olympics who have not received any medals.
Parents!
A quick note about meals for the youth. Obviously it is difficult to decide the quantity of a meal to make to provide to a number of youth that fluctuates from week to week. I will continually talk to the youth about the fact that this is a “Snack Supper” and not a “filling meal.” Also, if you are providing, you may want to come down to the youth room and count how many Jr. High we have, add 10-15 Sr. High to your count, and then decide what portion to serve. If you help dish out your meal and keep portions low, it will help. We will offer students “seconds” after everyone has been served. Please use the SignUpGenius link: click here OR if you don’t have a SignUpGenius account and don’t wish to make one, please email me what Sunday you would like to volunteer for, I will sign you up. Thank you so much in advance, as this is a great part of our Sunday evening fellowship.
Pie Baking Fun
Come out and help the Pie Sale efforts. Next week, on Friday, August 26th at 5PM we’ll be at the church for fellowship and pie baking fun with Pat Chase, Nori Stockman and April Kauffman! Please email [email protected] if you’d like to join us! Or sign up in the youth room on the clipboard on the chalk board.
The Youth are Hosting Church Game Day, Aug. 28
On Aug. 28th we’ll be hosting a Church Game Day from 3-5 in the afternoon in place of youth group. This is a service opportunity for us to serve the church with food, fun and games. We’ll need a youth or two hosting a game table, where you make sure everyone has met, agreed upon the rules and provide cookies, lemonade and coffee for those players who would like some! It should be a great day for church members to get to know each other as well as us! Come to Youth Group or Sunday school to sign up for a table to host! Or email me: [email protected] to let me know if you’re available! It will be a fun day! (If there is not enough interest from church members we will go to Skyzone. Watch for announcements.)
Fall Football Fellowship!
This year I’ve picked 3 home games for the youth to attend from each high school in Parker! (I apologize for not including every school we represent like Regis, Lutheran, Valor, etc.) You DO NOT have to attend that school to attend the game! This is open to all youth, Junior High AND Senior High, and their families. Come out and cheer, have food, and fellowship! I purposefully did NOT choose rivalry games, so we could all support and cheer on OUR Parker schools!

Get your homework done that weekend and COME ON! SIGN UP – Please email me ([email protected]) or sign up on the clipboard in the youth room, AS SOON AS YOU CAN if you plan to attend! We ask you to pay $20, which is half of the cost, anytime from now up to the date of the event. We would love for EVERY youth to participate, so we can really get to know and trust each other as a group. I will definitely need some parent drivers. (You are welcome to stay and help/participate, but it’s not required.) The ropes course is in Larkspur. We will meet at the church at 11:45, for a 12 departure. Please eat before you arrive. Expectation is to return to the church between 6-6:30PM. Students will call parents on the way back for a more accurate pick up time.

Special Homecoming Dance
Senior High – We have a unique opportunity to reach out to the special needs community on September 30th. Here at the church there will be a Homecoming Dance. If you’re available to attend you’ll experience something wonderful and amazing that will keep you returning year after year. Arrive all dressed and spiffy at 5:45, so we can line the walks and welcome the attendees with claps and cheers as they arrive. Spend the evening visiting and dancing with some wonderful kids. They will have a great time, and so will you! Friday, September 30, from 5:45 – 8:30.
