SLAM (Sun. School) – JUNIOR HIGH ONLY for 15 minutes (so know where your parents sit in church so you can join them). Communion Sunday. Please attend service with your family.

SNL (Youth Group) – YES – ALL CALL – EVERYONE PLEASE COME THIS SUNDAY!

4:00 – 6:00 Jr. High (grades 6, 7, 8)
5:30 Dinner for Everyone – provided by Chloe Bash’s family! – Thank you!
5:15 – 7:00 Sr. High (grades 9-12) Note this week come at 5:15 if you can!

Last Sunday the youth had a great time leading games for Children’s the Ministry’s Trunk or Treat!

Don’t Forget to Fall Back Saturday Night!

Junior High Help at 9:30 AM Sunday

Please have your middle schoolers go to the youth room at 9:30 this Sunday. They will join you in church shortly afterward. It’s important for the kids to be a part of something they’ll benefit from later. I always involve the Jr. High with helping pack the “Youth Into the World” packages that are mailed out to all of our college-aged kids, no matter whether they are working, serving in the military or in college. I try to avoid using the Sr. High, so they’ll forget about the program and be surprised one day to receive the package themselves.

Sr. High – 2 Small Time Changes For Youth Group

1) Please tell ALL high schoolers to try to arrive at 5:15 Sunday. We will be practicing a “small thing” for Youth Sunday. Our next Youth Sunday will be on January 27th. And 2) IF THEY ARE GOING TO ALASKA, please ask them to stay for about 15 minutes afterward so they can hear and receive information about a fundraising opportunity (they should bring home information).

Sr. High – NO Retreat in November

If you have the green calendar, you may have noticed a retreat on the schedule. I was going to join in the UM Conference retreat, but have decided not to do that this year. With us having an expensive mission trip, I will plan a different retreat (probably overnight at the church) with little to no cost. However, I will need some help driving kids to different locations for some off-site fun, so stay tuned!

Communion Help This Sunday!

Cody needs a few Communion Servers at the 9:30 service and also 2 at the 11:00 service. If you would like to serve Communion with your parent, child or friend (depending on who is reading this) please email [email protected] and let her know that you’d like to help, either this Sunday or in the future!

Church Mission Opportunity with Hanging of the Greens

On November 25th the youth and their families will come together with other members of the church to participate in the Hanging of the Greens. On that Sunday evening, we will gather at 4:00 PM, work side by side to the sounds of Christmas music and decorate the church for Christmas! Afterward, we will gather for a meal and fellowship. We began this event last year and we hope it will grow to be an annual tradition. CLICK HERE to signup to bring something for the meal.

First Alaska Mission Trip Payment

Keep in mind your first Alaska payment of $500 is due by November 15th. You may write a check or pay with a credit card online through our website. Got to www.parkerumc.org, click on GIVE, put in your amount and then use the drop-down menu (it’s not in alphabetical order) to choose (after all the Missions categories) Youth Mission Trip Reg.

Confirmation Classes 2019

Children are not full members of the church until they decide for themselves to join the church after learning about the Methodist religion through classes. At Parker UMC, these classes are for students in 7th grade (or older). The Confirmation Class of 2019 will begin on Sunday, January 13th and run through the end of April. Each month we will have one Sunday off. (Students will receive a full schedule on the first day of class, or you can email me if you need it prior: [email protected]) I do try to make this fun, reflective and interesting for the youth. We will meet each Sunday from 10:45 – 12:00 in room 137. Confirmation Sunday will be April 28th. TO REGISTER, email April and give her the student’s name, grade, parents’ names, and a good phone number (and email address if you would call).

2019 Youth Meals

Thank you to all who have helped provide a meal on Sunday night. You have no idea how much I appreciate you. If you haven’t yet picked a date, we have plenty in 2019!
