SLAM (Sunday School) – No, it’s Communion Sunday, please attend service with your family.

Sunday Night Life (Youth Group) – Yes!  (Unless weather turns icy – see below)

  • 4:00 – 6:00     Junior High (grades 6, 7, 8)
  • 5:30                 Dinner for All Grades – Provided by the Sheffield Family – Thank You!
  • 5:30 – 7:00      Senior High (high schoolers)

Last Week many youth, their families and church members came out for the Hanging of the Greens!  We worked hard and shared a meal.  Thank you to all who helped!

 

Weather Advisory – Possible Youth Group Cancellation

I will be watching the weather conditions on Sunday.  If the roads become wet and temperatures are going to head below freezing, I will probably cancel youth group Sunday night.  With dark falling earlier, it is not worth the dangerous conditions.  So, watch for communication from me on Sunday.  I will send an email, and I will also send a “Remind” message.  If you’re not subscribed it might be a good time to join the group.  (Directions will be at the end of this email.)

Two Weeks Until the Youth Ice Skating & Christmas Party!

On December 9th, we will meet at the Parker Library from 2-4.  Afterward, we will go ice skate (optional) on the Parker Ice Trail.  The youth will need $7.50 to ice skate (with our group rate).  For the party, have your youth bring a snack to share (cookies, appetizer, vegetable tray or fruit) and ALSO a gift for the gift exchange (a desirable gift, no more than $15 in cost – can definitely be LESS THAN).  So three things: a gift to exchange, treat to share and $7.50.

Welcome Home Breakfast Dec. 16th

The Youth sponsor a breakfast for college students and their families just before the holidays to welcome them home.  It’s a wonderful morning to honor our families who were once a part of the youth group at PUMC.  One day you, too, will benefit from this program.  Please CLICK HERE to signup to bring something that morning.  Instead of Sunday School, we will be setting up the Fellowship Hall and preparing for the breakfast from 10:30-11:00.

SHIRTS are STILL Available!

I have a lot of Youth Group shirts in many different sizes in my office!  They are only $10, and we will wear them on Youth Sunday as well as on our mission trips, mission work and various other times.  Feel free to come by during the week or ask me on Sundays!  I’d be happy to get rid of a few!

Confirmation Classes 2019

Children are not full members of the church until they decide for themselves to join the church after learning about the Methodist religion through classes.  At Parker UMC, these classes are for students in 7th grade (or older). The Confirmation Class of 2019 will begin on Sunday, January 13th and run through the end of April.  Each month we will have one Sunday off. (Students will receive a full schedule on the first day of class, or you can email me if you need it prior: [email protected])  I do try to make this fun, reflective and interesting for the youth.  We will meet each Sunday from 10:45 – 12:00 in room 137.  Confirmation Sunday will be April 28th.  TO REGISTER, email April and give her the student’s name, grade, parents’ names, and a good phone number (and email address if you would call).

2019 Youth Meals
